about me

What's up?! We already met a bit so feel free to call me Katie, KT, Wheels or KT Wheels. I use she/her/hers pronouns. I grew up on California's central coast, the youngest in a family of 5. As a kid, I was a big tomboy and only wanted to play sports, but (thankfully) my mom forced me to play violin, which then paved the way to where I am now. I attended an all-girls Catholic high school that had little-to-no arts education. Theatre barely existed there, music definitely did not. I would go over to the boys school in the morning and evening everyday for jazz and symphonic band just to get music education, and so it was through my own determination that I pursued the arts.

College is where I began to find myself. I started my college journey studying Vocal Jazz at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, but quickly switched after a year to Musical Theatre. As a person, I learned to be comfortable in my own skin and along with that came accepting and loving parts of myself that had been repressed for years. I've grown as a performer in college, sure -- everyone does, but I've really grown as a person. I can say I'm confident in who I am and who I'm becoming.
